Board of Directors
The control of the affairs of the Mountain Plains NAHRO Regional Council is vested in the Executive Board. The Board consists of the officers of the Regional Council, the presidents of the chartered NAHRO chapters in the region, and the three immediate past presidents of the Regional Council who are still active in the field. The officers of the Executive Board are members who are elected for a two year term in odd numbered years by the general membership at the Mountain Plains NAHRO annual conference. The officers of the Regional Council are President, Senior Vice-President, five Vice-Presidents with portfolio, Secretary and Treasurer. The officers and members of the Board of Governors of national NAHRO and the Representatives on National Standing Committees residing in the Region shall also be members.
The Standing Committees of the Regional Council are: Housing; Community Development and Revitalization; Professional Development; Commissioners; Member Services; Budget & Administration and International. The Board meets approximately five times per year to manage the affairs of the association.

Election of Officers
Election of the Board of Directors take place in odd-numbered years at the Annual Meeting held during the Mountain Plains NAHRO Annual conference.
A nominating committee is established 120 days prior to the annual conference in odd-numbered years to select persons from active members as nominees for office. Active members in good standing are invited to nominate candidates by petition 60 days prior to the annual conference. The final slate of candidates is announced to members 20 days prior to the annual conference and voted on electronically. The results of the electronic vote are announced at the annual conference.

Every active agency as defined by the respective State Chapter will be allowed one vote in the Regional Council. The Director of the active agency member shall cast the vote or notify the Regional Council of who shall be eligible to cast the agencies one vote. Active individual members who are eligible to vote in his or her respective State Chapter and who are not employed by an agency member are allowed one vote in the Regional Council. Active individual members who are eligible to vote in his or her respective State Chapter and who are employed by an agency member are not allowed to vote in the Regional Council. Affiliate & Honorary members are not eligible to vote.
